How To Be Thankful

How To Be Thankful

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.  And be thankful.     – Colossians 3:15 NIV

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.     – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

  1. Don’t relive the past.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am madding a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.     – Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV

Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.  Be alert, be present.  I’m about to do something brand-new.  It’s bursting out!  Don’t you see it?  There it is!  I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.     – Isaiah 43:18-19 The Message

  1. Don’t resent the present.

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.  – Psalm 118:24 NKJV

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”     – Hebrews 13:5 NIV

  1. Don’t rush the future.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”     – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

I know what I’m doing.  I have it all planned out – plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.     – Jeremiah 29:11 The Message

My times are in your hands.     – Psalm 31:15 NIV
